Christoph von Dohnányi gave up the post of Music Advisor to the Orchestre de Paris when Christoph Eschenbach was appointed Music Director in 2001, but he continued to make an annual return visit to the orchestra. On this occasion he conducted Dvořák’s Eighth, which he has given more than any other of the composer’s symphonies (maybe more than any symphony by anyone else) and has often featured in his debut concerts with orchestras around the world.
