A few months after appearing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Christoph von Dohnányi, Arabella Steinbacher returned to play Mozart’s Fourth Violin Concerto as part of a stimulating subscription programme which opened with the local premiere of Ligeti’s Double Concerto for flute and oboe, premiered by Dohnányi back in 1972 – ‘the best kind of guest conductor programming,’ according to the Boston Globe, ‘a visiting maestro bringing repertoire in which he has something truly distinctive to contribute.’
