Aube (Dawn) is a commission from the Boston Symphony Orchestra by the French composer and pianist Jean-Frederic Neuberger. The main work in these BSO subscription concerts is another piano concerto by Beethoven, the Fifth, with the pianist Martin Helmchen. Between Neuburger and Beethoven, the strings of the BSO divide in two for the nocturnal world of Bartok’s Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta.
